COVID-19 has challenged all of us and taught us that we don’t have control over anything. That is except ourselves and the choices we make. Self-care is the best way to get through this pandemic and make choices that can impact us for the rest of our lives.
Ways to be happy and healthy include:
Developing a routine including trying to be better organized
Exercise that can be as simple as walking for 30 minutes daily, strength training, aerobics, or whatever you enjoy that gets you moving.
Eating healthier which includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy protein. Sugar and excess caffeine are just 2 of many that can deplete your immune system. Harmful Effects of Excess Sugar | Ask Dr Sears (Please research caffeine and how it affects the immune system.)
Taking vitamin D-3, zinc, probiotics and other immune building supplements
Go out into nature and see how you can feel relaxed as your stress level goes down.
Begin a gratitude journal by writing 3 to 5 things daily that you are thankful for.
Hydrate-drink about 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day.
Sleep 7 to 9 hours a night.
Self care is an ongoing process that you must be aware of daily to be your best.
